When I Need Something Fizzy…

This, like juicing, is another afternoon pick me up I have come to thoroughly enjoy…not so much for the nutrient concentration but it makes for a great way to limit mid day munching.  It also is a great Coke, Pepsi, Sprite etc. substitute.  It’s been years since I’ve had a real Coke but for a while there I was indulging fairly frequently in diet sodas…which are lower in calories than a regular soda but proven to be much worse for you.  So I’ve tried to come up with something middle of the road: these “sodas”I like to make will have some calories (although it is much less than a regular soda and you can make it as low-cal as you want) but they are all natural.  It’s not so much a recipe as it is putting together your own puzzle from these various parts, you can choose however many or few you wish:

carbonated water (a must)

POM juice

cranberry juice

orange juice

olivello juice (if you really need an antioxidant punch)

coconut water

any other juice you can think of…especially if you can make it yourself with your juicer 🙂

a squeeze of lime (or lemon, but I prefer lime)

stevia (if you really have a sweet tooth)
